What Our Staff Say...

Liz McCabe, Manager

I qualified as a nurse in 2004 and have worked in various areas of the NHS and the Independent Sector, as a nurse, care coordinator and registered manager. My journey into management in the independent sector started in 2011 and I have really enjoyed working in a variety of care settings since. Working within care over the last few years has not been without it’s challenges but I am extremely proud of our team at Oaklands for their resilience and dedication to supporting and caring for our ladies, gentlemen and each other as team members. They ensure that care and compassion is balanced with fun and laughter doing their best to ensure that all who work or live in The Grove enjoy their day.

Glyn Elliot, Deputy Manager

I have dedicated the past 14 years to The Grove Nursing and Residential Home, where I have primarily focused on quality, compliance, and continuous improvement. Throughout this time, I have developed a deep understanding of the standards and practices that ensure exceptional care for our residents. In 2025 I was promoted to Deputy Manager, a role that allows me to work more closely with the care team and contribute directly to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. I am passionate about supporting our service users to live with dignity and comfort, while also providing reassurance and guidance to their families. I look forward to bringing my experience and commitment to excellence into this new chapter, fostering a positive and caring environment for everyone at The Grove.
